How does it work?

You come in, and we get started
We can start the removal at our very first meeting, because the treatment includes the consultation. Only book a separate consultation if you’re not sure yet.
How many sessions will I need?
The pigment fades with the laser, and usually 1–3 sessions are enough.

The result of permanent make-up removal also depends on the pigment, your skin type, previous treatments and aftercare. I don’t promise complete removal, no scarring or an exact number of sessions.

When won’t I do the treatment?
We discuss these in advance so there are no unpleasant surprises.
- active inflammation, a wound or infection in the area to be treated
- a fresh tattoo, or recently tanned, sunburnt or sunbed-exposed skin
- pregnancy and breastfeeding
- a tendency to keloids or scarring
- taking medication that causes light sensitivity (we discuss this in advance)
- skin-coloured, light or white pigment: here the laser can cause darkening, so only after individual assessment
- for lips: a tendency to cold sores
- unrealistic expectations, for example that it will disappear completely in one session
If I don’t do the treatment, I’ll always explain why. If a medical question comes up (for example a suspicious lesion or persistent inflammation), I’ll refer you to a doctor.

Frequently asked questions
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 1–3 sessions are enough, depending on the history and type of the eyebrow tattoo. At the free consultation I’ll tell you what to expect in your case; I don’t promise a fixed number of sessions.
Will it disappear completely?
Not in every case. Often the goal is simply that the old shape no longer bothers you. I don’t guarantee complete removal.
Does it hurt?
The treatment causes only minimal discomfort: the cooling makes it gentle, although sensitivity varies from person to person. We discuss your comfort before the treatment.
Can the skin scar?
The right settings and aftercare reduce the risk, but I can’t promise zero risk: scarring, pigment changes or irritation can occur.
What is paradoxical darkening?
Certain pigments, for example light or skin-coloured ones, can darken with the laser. If this is suspected, we proceed carefully, following an individual plan.
What is a Q-switched laser?
It uses short, high-energy pulses of light to break the pigment into tiny particles, which your body clears away naturally. The Dermway I works with two wavelengths, so it acts on many pigment colours.
Does it work on bluish, greyish or reddish brows too?
In many cases it’s an option, but the colour strongly affects the reaction. I’ll look at it in person at the consultation.
When can I have my brows tattooed again?
Once the treatment has settled and your skin has healed, you can have your brows tattooed again – with me too, if you like. We’ll agree on the timing together after the last treatment.
Can it be done on lips too?
I’ll look at it at the consultation and give you separate information: the lips are a more sensitive area, and any tendency to cold sores has to be taken into account.
Sunbathing, sunbeds, pregnancy?
I don’t treat recently tanned, sunburnt or sunbed-exposed skin, and intense UV exposure should be avoided before and after the treatment. Starting during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended.
Is there a guarantee?
I don’t give a guarantee on results. What I do promise is that at the free consultation I’ll tell you the price per session and the expected number of sessions in advance, and if the treatment isn’t suitable for you, I won’t push it – I’ll explain why.
